Minister Dragoș Pîslaru highlighted the paradox in which Romania finds itself, with a growing budget deficit and limited fiscal resources, but with 55 billion euros in European funds available for investments. Of this money, 13 billion from the PNRR must be spent by August 31 next year. Pîslaru emphasized the need for the professionalization of public administration to enable the efficient absorption of these funds, mentioning that Romania has over 20,000 ongoing projects, including in infrastructure and education.
