PSD lawmaker Alexandru Rogobete criticized, on social media, Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu’s reactions to the spending scandal at the National Meteorological Administration. He described the controversy over luxury purchases as the “new communication strategy” and compared the scale of the issue with the importance of an environmental approval for the Sibiu–Pitești Motorway.
“A bra vs. an environmental approval for the Sibiu–Pitești Motorway,” Rogobete wrote, arguing that the scandal is diverting attention from questions he considers essential. The lawmaker added that “the spectacle is replacing responsibility” and ended his message with the expression “Enjoy the Silence”.
The reaction came after Diana Buzoianu announced the results of an inspection conducted by the Ministry of Environment at ANM. According to the minister, five official cards were allegedly used in 2025 to make purchases worth more than 450,000 lei, including underwear, perfumes, clothing, cosmetics, decorations and ornamental plant pots.
The reported expenses included 85,290 lei for clothing and underwear, 119,750 lei for perfumes, 11,666 lei for cosmetics and 38,687 lei for air fresheners. Buzoianu called for the resignation of ANM’s management and announced that the report would be sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
