The leadership of the Young People's Party (POT) has decided to expel Răzvan Mirel Chiriţă from the party, citing his failure to fulfill his responsibilities as a member and parliamentarian. The decision was made after an analysis of his behavior, which included a lack of involvement in the electoral campaign for Bucharest, non-payment of dues for several months, and absence of support in the party's activities.
Chiriţă was recently appointed leader of the POT parliamentary group, but his behaviors were deemed incompatible with the party's values. Additionally, prior to his expulsion, ten members elected on the POT lists left the Parliamentary Group. Chiriţă was also mentioned in the context of accusations related to the sale of sanitary materials at inflated prices during the pandemic. The expulsion takes immediate effect, but Chiriţă can contest the decision according to internal procedures.
