The interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruţă, stated that the Port of Constanţa should have methods to account for whether someone without a permit enters the port, as was the case with the drone that exploded.
"This drone was not seen from the open waters of the Black Sea, it is a problem, but it is partially acceptable, considering the existing equipment and technology of this drone. This means that this drone, from the water, hovers 60 centimeters above the water, which is very little. As long as this drone enters the port, the port is not in one place today and in another place tomorrow. It is a strategic objective whose positioning we know very well, whose access routes we know very well. Beyond the existence of the Coast Guard, beyond the existence of the Ministry of Defense, it is mandatory for the port itself to have some methods to account for whether someone without a permit enters the port. The Port of Constanţa has not managed to realize such a thing, which I find very serious," said Radu Miruţă on Sunday evening, at Euronews Romania.
