Radu Miruță, the Minister of Defense, commented on the unrealistic expectations regarding a complete "shield" against drones entering Romanian airspace, emphasizing that such a solution is utopian. He assured that the authorities are constantly adapting defense devices based on Russian attacks on the Danube, especially protecting populated areas.
Miruță mentioned that the defense strategy has worked so far, but continuous monitoring of the activities of the Russian Federation is necessary. Regarding drone attacks, he noted a consistency in intensity, influenced by weather conditions. He also acknowledged that the existing anti-drone defense system is not fully operational, having limitations in interconnection with radars and other defense systems.
