Radu Miruță, the Minister of Defense, stated on Friday in Timișoara that PNL, USR, and UDMR no longer have a place in the same room with PSD, due to the lack of trust in the party led by Sorin Grindeanu. He emphasized that PSD did not respect the agreement made at the formation of the former governing coalition, which raises questions about its seriousness. The minister concluded that PSD has isolated itself through its poor decisions and irresponsibility.
"A government that this country needs, in which PNL, USR, UDMR, respecting also the votes that PSD has taken from the Romanians we appreciate, will decide proportionally with the votes that these three parties have obtained, for a period of time. We are in today's situation because PSD did not respect an agreement. And then on what anchor should we rely to believe that the same PSD that will not respect an agreement will respect it now? It is evident that PNL, USR, UDMR no longer have a place, because PSD has isolated itself in Romania through irresponsibility, through poor decisions. We have stated what the thresholds are at which we sit at the table, in the sense that we will no longer vote for a government with PSD. (..) Romania no longer needs such band-aids to last another 3-4 months, Romania needs a government that will strongly implement some measures that it assumes in the government program," said Radu Miruță.
