Radu Miruță discusses with his colleague from Serbia about common transport projects

Radu Miruță, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense and Acting Minister of Transport, had a meeting on Friday in Timișoara with Aleksandra Sofronijević, the Minister of Transport from Serbia.

The discussions focused on strengthening the connections between the two countries, including projects such as the Timișoara-Morava Highway and the resumption of passenger rail transport. Miruță emphasized that the technical teams will collaborate to update the legal framework of the highway. Additionally, issues related to the residence of drivers in the Schengen Area and joint controls between ISCTR and the Serbian counterpart were discussed.

Other topics included the expansion of the Rhine-Danube rail corridor and support for the EU-Western Balkans Green Corridors.

Miruță highlighted the excellent collaboration in the field of civil aviation and the importance of Timișoara as an example of cross-border cooperation.
