The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, about military pensions: "Yes, military pensions have an injustice / I am very concerned to see, as much as possible, to reduce these differences, which, in fact, are measured in injustice"

Radu Miruță, the Minister of National Defense, stated that he also proposes to eliminate the existing injustices in the pension system for military personnel, emphasizing that there is no differentiation between individuals. He mentioned that there is already a law that progressively increases the retirement age for military and public order personnel. Miruță highlighted the fact that two colleagues with similar roles and activities can have significantly different pensions, simply because they retired in different years, which he considers unacceptable.

He also acknowledged that Romania has not had a uniform approach regarding military pensions and that he is concerned about correcting these inequities, even though not all situations can be remedied immediately. The Minister emphasized that it is essential to reduce the pension disparities that affect the morale and perception of military personnel.
