PSD Senator Daniel Zamfir criticized the Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, stating that she represents a "danger to national security." He emphasized that the company OMV has exited the national energy system, affecting energy production capacity, and warned that Romania may have to import electricity at high prices.
The criticisms come in the context of a drinking water crisis in 12 localities in Prahova, where 100,000 people do not have access to water due to the affected quality of the main source, Paltinu Dam. ANAR declared the situation "critical" and recommended declaring a state of emergency.
The Minister of Environment accused a "serious lack of professionalism" in managing the issue, while Hidro Prahova stated that it is not responsible for the water source. The resumption of water supply is estimated for next week.
