The Social Democratic Party (PSD) announced that it will notify the LIBE Committee of the European Parliament, accusing PNL of attacks against the judicial system in Romania. In a press release, the social democrats expressed their concern about the pressures exerted on judges and called on European institutions to monitor the situation in the country.

PSD emphasizes that the recent attacks by PNL raise questions regarding the respect for judicial independence and the rule of law. Additionally, PSD supported the position of the Superior Council of Magistracy, which classified the attacks as an unprecedented escalation.

The social democrats state that public pressures on judges are incompatible with the principles of the rule of law. In response, PNL accused that special judicial panels have been formed for political cases, contesting the legality of these decisions. PNL announced that it will challenge in court the decisions of the Bucharest Tribunal that suspended the organization of the party's Congress.
