Constantin Toma, the PSD mayor of Buzău, stated that Sorin Grindeanu is playing a dangerous game both for the party and for the country, through the internal consultation scheduled for April 20. Toma believes that this decision will weaken the PSD and lead to the loss of voters in favor of AUR. He warns that the party will be "swallowed" by AUR if it exits the government, emphasizing that many supporters already have the tendency to join the far-right formation. Toma also criticizes the PSD leadership, stating that Grindeanu has nothing to deliver to the party and that political instability will negatively affect the economy. In his opinion, the PSD is heading towards a precarious situation, and the internal consultation could lead to a decision to exit the government, which would further diminish the party's influence on the political scene.
