PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that there has been no discussion in the coalition regarding raising the retirement age for ordinary pensioners. He emphasized that recent discussions have focused on judges' pensions as a good practice example. He also mentioned that, although in other countries there are discussions about raising the retirement age to 70, Romania has a life expectancy of only 72 years, which makes such a measure problematic. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan brought up the necessity of raising the retirement age to ensure the sustainability of the pension system.
