The electoral bloc includes the Party of Socialists, the Heart of Moldova, the Future of Moldova and the Party of Communists, led by Igor Dodon, who advocates re-establishing ties with Russia. Maia Sandu, the pro-European president, may not win a majority as previous elections were narrowly won. Pro-Russia party leaders recently met in Russia to discuss reviving economic and energy ties.
