Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has announced that, due to the budget crisis, property taxes for individuals could increase significantly, in some cases by up to 70%, where they have not been indexed for years. This measure will be part of an austerity package and the funds generated will be collected by local authorities, which will have additional revenues. Bolojan stressed that the adjustments are necessary to reflect the market value of properties.
