Alexandru Muraru, the leader of PNL Iași, stated that the PSD-AUR alliance's plan to overthrow the government was conceived a few weeks ago, aiming to establish a regime of Belarusian origin, which would abandon Euro-Atlantic values. Muraru claimed that this premeditated action seeks the international isolation of Romania, total control, and the instillation of fear.
He emphasized that PSD resorts to these tactics because the Bolojan Government has acted against tax evasion and unearned privileges. Muraru warned that the bill for this betrayal will be borne by every Romanian, stressing that political instability discourages investors and affects the trust of European partners.
He compared the situation to social-democratic parties in other countries that have succumbed to populism, ending up being eliminated from the political scene. Muraru reaffirmed PNL's commitment not to allow Romania to be dragged towards the East.
