Several PNL mayors, including Mario de Mezzo from Slatina, have expressed their displeasure with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's decisions to cut European funding for projects with less than 30% development. Mayors from various parties, including USR and PSD, joined the critics, expressing their intention to protest. PNL mayors in the south of the country have warned that without financial support, the party will not stand a chance in the 2028 elections, and discontent is growing among local elected officials.
