PNL asks PSD to give up the threat to block the vote for the 2026 budget, warning of a functional void in Romania

PNL's reaction comes after the suspension of debates in the joint budget-finance committees, caused by disagreements between parties, especially after a PSD amendment regarding aid for pensioners was rejected.

PNL emphasized that without an approved budget, municipalities cannot start projects, and public investments will be severely affected. Additionally, the liberals highlighted the complicated international context, including rising energy prices and inflation, which require a stable budget. PNL called for responsibility, urging the voting of the budget in the interest of citizens and the stability of Romania.
