Dragos Pîslaru, the interim Minister of Labor, stated that the first consultations for the new unified salary law have revealed real issues, including scales that are not correctly arranged.

The consultations included sessions with public institutions and social partners, having nearly 100 participants. Pîslaru emphasized that the received observations will be analyzed and corrected where necessary. The law must be adopted by August 31, in the context of the obligations from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The minister mentioned that the current consultations are not salary negotiations, but a process of establishing fair rules for the public system. The project provides for the elimination of more than half of the existing bonuses to simplify and increase the transparency of the salary system. Pîslaru highlighted the importance of fair treatment for state employees and promised that each observation will be analyzed. Authorities have three weeks to finalize the project in a politically assumed form.
