Lia Olguța Vasilescu reminisced about two interactions with pensioners to emphasize that the PSD fights for seniors. She recounted how a doctor decided to vote for PSD because the party cares about pensions, while another pensioner reproached the lack of pension indexing. Vasilescu criticized a party's abstention from voting for pension increases, mentioning that only 16% of pensioners voted for PSD in the last elections. She also highlighted an incident in which a parliamentarian shouted "Shame on you!" during the debates. PSD proposed a Solidarity Package to allocate 1.1 billion lei to the Ministry of Labor, but the amendment failed due to lack of votes. Vasilescu expressed regret that, despite Romania's budget, no funds were approved for pensioners and families with disabled children. LOV is not new to conflicts with pensioners. Last week, she quarreled with pensioner Floarea Bolojan (87 years old), after she gave an interview for Libertatea.
