President Nicușor Dan believes that the formation of the Luca Niculescu government is at an advanced stage and emphasizes that Wednesday’s meeting with dismissed Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan in Brussels was cordial and relaxed.
The head of state says this is the first time that “we are talking about political agreements with the designated prime minister,” following the failures of the cabinets of Eugen Tomac, Adrian Veștea, and Siegfried Mureșan.
“So I believe that we are heading toward forming a group, toward Parliament voting in a government,” Nicușor Dan said, according to HotNews.ro, before the European Council in Brussels.
“I believe we are at a very advanced stage in forming the government,” Nicușor Dan added.
Asked about the meeting with Ilie Bolojan in Brussels, Nicușor Dan said it was “absolutely cordial and relaxed, and the topics were touched upon, but not negotiated or traded.”
Designated Prime Minister Luca Niculescu is expected to submit on Thursday, to Parliament, the list of ministers and the Government Program, triggering the procedure for the investiture of the new Executive. The time when the documents will be submitted has not been officially announced.
