President Nicușor Dan stated on Tuesday that there is a possibility of organizing early elections, but he believes that this scenario should be avoided. He emphasized that, in his opinion, early elections would not bring fundamental changes to the political configuration, according to current polls, and would maintain the existing deadlock.

“This possibility exists, we are not yet in its calendar, but I would like us to avoid the scenario because it will not bring, at least looking at the polls, it will not bring fundamental changes in majorities, but we would find ourselves in the same deadlock we are in today,” said Nicușor Dan.

He explained that triggering early elections would create an image of instability in Romania for an extended period. His statements were made in the context of a working breakfast with ambassadors of EU member states accredited in Romania, highlighting concerns related to the political stability of the country.
