President Nicușor Dan stated that, regardless of the outcome of Tuesday's vote regarding the motion of censure, Romania will continue to maintain its western trajectory and that the state will continue to function. He emphasized the importance of fundamental objectives, such as SAFE and PNRR, in the current context. The Parliament is preparing for a decisive vote against Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, the motion being initiated by a bloc formed by PSD, AUR, and PACE, which contests the administrative reforms and the sale of state assets. The motion, titled "STOP Bolojan's Plan", has 254 signatures, far exceeding the necessary number, but the fate of the Prime Minister remains uncertain with less than 24 hours before the final vote.
"We will have the motion tomorrow, I want to assure Romanians that regardless of what happens, we will maintain our western direction, the state will continue to function. There are agreements on the immediately important objectives. The scenario of a national unity prime minister, namely Călin Georgescu, is excluded. In my opinion, AUR is not a pro-western party," said the president.
