President Nicușor Dan requested the Parliament to re-examine a law that allows the Ministry of Investments and European Projects to use funds for the expenses of project beneficiaries, in the context of a fraud report. He argues that the version adopted by Parliament contravenes the principle of bicameralism, as stipulated in the Constitution. The law, which aims to approve the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 45/2025, was significantly modified in the Chamber of Deputies compared to the initial version and the one adopted by the Senate. Nicușor Dan emphasizes that there are major differences between the versions of the law, which necessitates a re-evaluation by Parliament to respect the legislative competencies established by the Constitution.
