Nicușor Dan, about the nomination of a new prime minister: There is no point in doing a free exercise

President Nicușor Dan declared on Tuesday, from Paris, where he participated in the Coalition for Strength meeting, that at this moment there is no name for a prime minister who can gather a majority.

"When I am convinced that there is a majority, I will appoint" (...) there is no point in doing a free exercise," said Nicușor Dan.

He also emphasized that there is no deadline for making a new nomination, even if a majority is not formed.

"We have not set a timeline, I hope a solution will emerge," he emphasized.

On the other hand, he said that the option of minority governments succeeding each other is a variant that has chances in principle, but "practically we have an experience that says that whoever is in power in an election year loses, hence the blockage comes."

The president also specified that the technocratic government he proposed was a solution that would have stood on its feet.

Regarding early elections, he said that "very little has been said about early elections" in the new negotiations on Monday, "because it would prolong the state of uncertainty, we would still be there, without the possibility of forming a majority."  "I don't see the point," concluded Nicușor Dan.
