President Nicușor Dan welcomed the decision of the Constitutional Court to validate the reform of special pensions for magistrates, considering it a reform awaited by Romanians. He emphasized that recalibrating the way pensions are calculated is a gesture of equity, necessary in Romanian society.

Nicușor Dan assured that this decision does not represent an attack on magistrates, whose work is appreciated and respected. The Court rejected the unconstitutionality objections raised by the High Court of Cassation and Justice, thus validating the cut of magistrates' pensions with a narrow vote of 5-4.
