President Nicușor Dan explained why he does not wish to bring AUR into government, citing fears that the party led by George Simion could oppose international sanctions against Russia. Dan emphasized that, despite the governmental crisis, it is essential for Romania to maintain a pro-Western direction, considering the recent discussions about a new package of sanctions from the European Union.
He also mentioned that organizing early elections is not a desired solution, although he does not completely rule it out, indicating that a prolonged political deadlock could justify such a measure. Dan expressed confidence that there are resources to find a majority in Parliament, emphasizing the importance of political stability in the current context.
