President Nicușor Dan discussed on Friday about the decision of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ÎCCJ) in the case of Dominic Fritz, the president of USR, who was found in a conflict of interest. He questioned the role of the National Integrity Agency (ANI), asking whether it should focus on identifying individuals who enrich themselves through public office or on minor details in documents.
Dan emphasized that it is important to analyze the lifestyle of public officials, including the cars they present at town halls. He also mentioned that he does not wish to comment on the court decision, but suggested that the penalties imposed by law could be disproportionate. Following the ÎCCJ ruling, Fritz announced that he would contest the decision at the European Court of Human Rights, considering it unfair and related to a campaign against him and his party.
