The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, announced that he had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, in Ankara, during which they discussed deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in strategic areas, especially in the nuclear energy sector.


Nicușor Dan invited the Canadian Prime Minister to visit Bucharest, and Carney accepted the invitation to visit Canada. The President emphasized the importance of Canada as a trusted partner of Romania and highlighted the potential for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, mentioning that Romania wishes to leverage Canadian technology experience.


He also reaffirmed the commitment to develop the Enhanced Partnership between the two countries, for the benefit of citizens and a strong transatlantic Alliance.


The meeting took place on the sidelines of the NATO summit, where leaders discuss Euro-Atlantic security and support for Ukraine.
