Nicu Ștefănuță has initiated a request to the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, asking for the activation of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, in view of the severe floods in Neamț and Suceava counties. Hydrological warnings indicate risks of several rivers overflowing and delaying measures could worsen the situation. Activating the mechanism would provide Romania with intervention teams, rescue equipment and technical support, coordinated rapidly through the ERCC. Ștefănănuță underlines the need for immediate action to protect citizens.
