Ion Iliescu, former President of Romania, has died at the age of 95. Mircea Abrudean expressed his condolences to the family and underlined his importance in history.

The President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, has sent a message of condolences after the death of former President Ion Iliescu, at the age of 95, hospitalized at the Agrippa Ionescu Hospital. Abrudean stressed that Iliescu will remain in history and that it will be possible to analyze his role in public life in time. The death was confirmed by the hospital, where Iliescu was suffering from lung cancer.
