Mircea Abrudean, the president of the Senate, stated that Romania's accession to the OECD represents the most important national objective at present, emphasizing that it is non-negotiable and has a bipartisan character.
During the OECD International Network for Financial Education's spring semester meeting, organized by the National Bank of Romania, Abrudean highlighted the crucial role of Parliament in the accession process, especially regarding legislative harmonization and the adoption of necessary amendments to align with OECD standards. He also mentioned that Parliament will act as a promoter of this objective within the public opinion in Romania, including through the establishment of the Joint Parliamentary Committee for Accession to the OECD.
