Mircea Abrudean, the president of the Senate, stated that the simple motion against the Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, is 'without finality' and serves to politically speculate on a complicated situation. He emphasized that he has no emotions regarding its passage, mentioning that the opposition has the right to submit such motions, but he does not believe they will have a significant impact. Regarding the position of USR parliamentarians, the leader of the senators of this party, Ștefan Pălărie, announced that they will not vote on simple motions but will participate in the debates. At the same time, the liberals confirmed that they will vote against the motion. The simple motion against Predoiu will be debated in the Senate, while another motion against the Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, will be discussed in the Chamber of Deputies.
