Matei Păun, an economic analyst and close associate of Mayor Nicușor Dan, rejected criticisms that the president does not have a sufficiently firm attitude towards the PSD.
Păun explained that Nicușor Dan never wanted the highest office to initiate a total confrontation with the social democrats. He mentioned that the electorate has sometimes projected radical expectations onto the leader, while the real priorities of the mandate are structural reforms and public policies.
Additionally, Păun emphasized that negotiations with all political formations are a normality in the presidential role, labeling the idea of a hidden pact as absurd.
"This idea that Nicușor would be the PSD's man for me is a total absurdity. It is a total absurdity. A political negotiation? That is also his job, to negotiate politically with all parties," said Matei Păun.
This approach of Nicușor Dan is seen as a strategy to maintain political stability, focusing on constructive solutions.
