Former Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, recently elected president of the Buzău County Council, commented on Daniel Băluță's defeat, stating that it was influenced by the strategically redirected vote following the decline in popularity of the USR candidate, Cătălin Drulă. Ciolacu believes that Băluță was the best candidate for the Capital, but that voters opted rationally for a better-placed candidate in the final days of the campaign.
Additionally, Ciolacu suggested that USR should take responsibility for the election results, mentioning that the first accountability should be made by this party. After centralizing over 57% of the minutes, Ciolacu leads with 53% of the votes in the elections for the presidency of the Buzău County Council.
