Marcel Ciolacu, former prime minister, declared for G4Media that he will run for the presidency of the Buzău County Council, requesting the support of his colleagues from the local organization during a scheduled conference. The position became vacant after the resignation of Lucian Romașcanu, who was appointed to the European Court of Auditors. Currently, the interim presidency is held by Adrian Petre, vice president of the CJ. The government will adopt a decision for organizing the by-elections on December 7, and candidacies can be submitted between November 12-17.
