The Minister of Investments, Dragoș Pîslaru, reacts to the new CCR postponement: "You know the saying: 'God gives, but doesn't put it in your bag'? In this case, it's about 231 million Euros."

The judges of the Constitutional Court have postponed for the fifth time the decision regarding the reform of special pensions, in order to have time to analyze the request of the High Court of Cassation and Justice to refer the matter to the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Dragoș Pîslaru stated that, although the Government has not yet received an official confirmation regarding the loss of European funds, the risk is significant. 

"You know the saying: 'God gives, but does not put it in your bag'? In this case, it concerns 231 million Euros and the idea of justice in Romania. After years in which the imbalances in the public pension budget have been increasing, following successive country recommendations from the European Commission, Romania committed, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, to reform special pensions. This happened in November 2021, more than 4 and a half years ago," states Dragoș Pîslaru in a post on his Facebook page, written before the CCR announced a new postponement regarding the pensions of magistrates.
