Designated Prime Minister Luca Niculescu said on Thursday, after negotiations with the PSD, that he had had “a very interesting, substantive first discussion” with the party and that social policies would be included in the governing program, according to HotNews.ro and Digi24.
Niculescu announced that the immediate priorities are a budget adjustment, a 2027 budget that must be completed by the end of the year, and compliance with commitments regarding the fiscal trajectory.
“I had an interesting, substantive first discussion with PSD representatives,” Niculescu said, adding that he had “found openness in trying to find solutions.”
“We are considering a prudent indexation of pensions, but once again, I cannot reveal very much until we work on and finalize the governing program, and above all we must discuss with all the parties, because I did not come with a set-in-stone program. I am very open, I listen to their proposals, and I hope there will be great openness on the part of the parties, precisely because, as I was saying, the situation is complex,” Luca Niculescu said, according to HotNews.ro.
