Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, stated that he does not trust the Romanian justice system and that he will support any necessary reform to make it self-regulate. He emphasized that he does not want to return to the old system, where the secret services influenced the judiciary, labeling the idea of a political campaign against the judiciary as "nonsense."

"People do not trust the justice system. I do not trust the justice system either. I trust judges and prosecutors, as there are wonderful people there, but I do not trust the system. Not today, not yesterday, for 20 years. Of course, I will not agree to go back to where we started," said Kelemen Hunor
