Ionuț Stroe, former minister and liberal leader, called on Tuesday for PNL to return to the negotiating table with PSD, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a pro-Western and Euro-Atlantic majority.
Stroe expressed his concern on Facebook on Tuesday about the possible formation of a PSD-AUR government, considering that this scenario poses a real risk to the pro-Western direction that Romania has assumed.
"I believe it is time for a quick return to the same table of pro-Western parties. We cannot afford a government where extremism enters through the back door, either directly or through support. There is no time for pride, petty calculations, or tactical games," Stroe wrote on Facebook.
He highlighted that PNL has turned this orientation into an assumed brand and emphasized the need for rapid collaboration among pro-Western parties.
Stroe mentioned that it is essential to avoid extremism in governance and called for political maturity to rebuild a functional majority anchored in European values. Any other alternative could lead Romania into an unacceptably risky zone, according to him.
