The draft law, which complements the Patient Rights Act, offers all insured patients the right to a second medical consultation, free of charge, paid for by the insurance system. This allows patients to confirm a diagnosis or explore treatment options. The draft will be discussed by the Chamber of Deputies, and a regional scheduling system will be implemented in the next 6 months. Although the benefits are evident, some doctors express concerns about the additional workload.
