Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan explained that the agreement will bring both opportunities and risks, mentioning that the European Union has negotiated this agreement for 25 years to expand its markets. Bolojan detailed the benefits for Romanian companies, which will be able to capitalize on export opportunities, but he also acknowledged the risks in the agricultural sector, where competition from South American countries could affect Romanian farmers.
The Prime Minister emphasized that additional measures have been established to protect European farmers, including limiting imports at low prices and allocating funds to support Romanian farmers. Bolojan also mentioned that the decision was made in the context of a broader vision for the economy, not just from the perspective of agriculture.
