At the extraordinary PNL congress held on July 12, Ilie Bolojan was elected president, obtaining 967 votes, being the only candidate. The newly elected first vice-presidents are Ciprian Ciucu, Adrian Veștea, Nicoleta Pauliuc and Cătălin Predoiu. Bolojan emphasized the importance of internal reforms and responsible governance, announcing that he will propose Dan Motreanu as the party's secretary general.
