Ilie Bolojan explains the photo with Nicușor Dan from Brussels: "At the table, you go with those with whom you have certain compatibilities"

President Nicușor Dan met in Brussels with PNL MEP Rareș Bogdan and the director of the Protection and Guard Service, Lucian Pahonțu, before the European Council meeting on June 18, according to images published by Digi24. At the table, they were also joined by Victor Negrescu (PSD) and Eugen Tomac.

PNL President Ilie Bolojan said on Digi24 that, from his experience, leaders who go to Brussels have official meetings with MEPs, but "you take the table with whoever you like".

"There are two aspects here. And when I traveled to Brussels or for meetings, when I was prime minister with the Commission's executive or at the European Council, when I was interim president, I sought, as I always did, to have meetings either at our representation, to see what the issues are, or a meeting with our group of MEPs - those who came by invitation, because not everyone came every time. And after that, of course, those who are on a trip need to have a meal, and you take the meal with whoever you like, you know, the company at the table is no longer imposed. The meeting is an official one, which you have with everyone, and at the table, you go with those with whom you have certain compatibilities. I have nothing to comment on," said PNL President Ilie Bolojan on Digi24.
