Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, stated in a press conference that there is no evidence of a meeting between Lia Olguța Vasilescu, Claudiu Manda, and the leader of AUR, George Simion, to discuss a possible alliance between PSD and AUR.
According to political sources, the meeting allegedly took place about three weeks ago in Craiova, with the subject being a political collaboration between the two parties, without Grindeanu's involvement. It is assumed that the discussions were aimed at continuing the alliance after the 2028 elections.
"Well, I listened to Olguța, saying that there was no such meeting between George Simion, Olguța, and Claudiu Manda. That's one. Two, the Social Democratic Party is the most disciplined party in Romania as you have seen in these 30-something years. The Social Democratic Party, when it makes a decision, follows it, and the party members do too. I believe Olguța, obviously, whom I heard with my own ears, saying that there was no meeting between George Simion, Olguța Vasilescu, and Claudiu Manda," said Sorin Grindeanu.
