Sorin Grindeanu, the leader of the PSD, stated that there has been no discussion between the leadership of his party and AUR regarding a possible joint support for a motion of censure. In an intervention on Antena 3, Grindeanu acknowledged that he met with George Simion in the hallway of the hotel in Timișoara, where the PSD had a regional meeting, but emphasized that this was an "episodic matter," without further implications. He stated that social democrats have no reason to discuss with AUR and that they have not had recent contacts with this party. Grindeanu mentioned that the PSD will continue to collaborate only with pro-European parties and that there is no expectation of a majority that would include AUR in the near future. This statement comes in the context of speculations regarding a possible political crisis.
