Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, stated in a press conference that the USR leader, Dominic Fritz, has a direct interest in maintaining the ruling party to secure his position as prefect of Timiș, essential for keeping the position of mayor of Timișoara.

Grindeanu accuses USR and PNL of focusing exclusively on protecting their positions, ignoring the needs of Romania.

He emphasized that negotiations for forming a new parliamentary majority are blocked by a "blocking minority," referring to the interim prime minister Ilie Bolojan.
