Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna has announced that state employees will no longer be able to combine their pension with their salary, including military and former police officers. Those who want to continue working after retirement can do so, but they must give up their pension. The aim of the reform is to reduce privileges and state spending by encouraging active work. It also proposes a 5-year transition period to implement the new retirement conditions. The draft is under public consultation and changes are possible.
