Elena Năstăsoiu, AUR candidate for the Buzău City Hall, has withdrawn from the electoral race, accusing "reprehensible acts". Along with her, 18 of the 29 candidates for Buzău City Council withdrew their candidacies.

Năstăsoiu accused the party leadership of meddling in the AUR Buzău organization and of interfering in the lists of candidates. She said that AUR is now "the biggest poison for the Romanian electorate" and that loyal people are being pushed aside in favor of those from other parties or those with financial potential.
