George Simion, the president of AUR, sent a message on Wednesday in which he claims that the general mayor of Bucharest, Nicușor Dan, is violating the Constitution through secret meetings with party leaders, with the aim of forming a majority. Simion stated that AUR, as the second largest party in the country, should be involved in discussions regarding the formation of the future government, but he insists that this is not happening in practice.
In his opinion, the actions of the general mayor contribute to a political crisis with constitutional implications, affecting the population. Simion announced that he will inform the public about the developments of this situation and also cited the annulment of the presidential elections as an additional example of what he describes as abuse of power.
