Alfred Simonis, the president of the Timiș County Council, stated that the Government of Romania, led by Ilie Bolojan, has halted funding for new infrastructure projects in the county, including sports halls and medical units. Simonis emphasizes that the works are already in advanced stages of execution, between 50% and 90%, and that stopping them will lead to the degradation of the investments made. He requested the National Investment Company and the Prime Minister to find a legal way to take over these projects and complete them from the funds of the County Council.

Among the affected projects is the sports hall in Dudeștii Noi, which reached an execution stage of over 90% five years ago but has not been completed. Simonis believes that urgent intervention is necessary to avoid increasing completion costs and to make these projects available to the communities.
